Learning About China by Sam C.
We have been learning about China. China is over 5000 years old. China is split into two parts: urban and rural. Urban is the city life and rural is the farm life. China has a population of over 1 billion people. China has the most people in the world. The capital of China is Beijing. Beijing has the Forbidden City. Long ago only Emperors could live there and no ordinary people could come in. The biggest town square is in Beijing. China also has the Yellow River. It is one of the biggest rivers in the world. Part of Mr. Everest goes into Chinese territory. The money used in China is the Yuan. The main language in China is Mandarin. Some chinese people can use an abacus as fast as you can type a calculator. China is famous for many things. One of those things is silk. The Chinese invented many things. One of those things was tea. An English spy went to China and stole their tea. That is how Chinese tea came to England and India. It spread from there. Some people think that China looks like a chicken. I have been to China. I went to a big city called Hong Kong. Hong Kong is one of the miniature capitals.
