Game Day

Last friday we had a special day when we could bring a game in to school to play, but you could only bring in one game.  I like game day because it is soo fun to play games at school!!! We got the special reward because we have a word jar and we filled it up. Let’s get back to game day.  A lot of the games were a lot of fun. A lot of the game’s I did not play, but they looked like such fun.  I do not have a favorite game.  Some of the games were hard and complicated.  Now do you think game day is cool?

Another Funny Family Story Inspired by Nate's Grandfather

Funny Family Story as told by Sammy J

Once my brother was going on a fieldtrip and he got to buy a drink and my mom said Ian couldn’t get coke but she didn’t say no pepsi so my brother bought a 32 ounce bottle of pepsi.  And he was chugging it for the whole way home.  And then when Ian was going to bed my mom came in and my brother said “I have a party in my head!” and then my mom said “What did you have? Did you have any coke?”  Ian said, “No, I had a 32 ounce bottle of Pepsi.”

Chinese New Year

By: Jared W.

Chinese New Year is the most important holiday in China. It is important because every Chinese wants to go to their parents’ house to celebrate this long holiday.  One Chinese new year, my dad was planing to take me to my grandparents’ house in China. But sadly, I got sick and didn’t make it. My dad told me that I missed a lot of fun.

On chinese new year’s eve., every family lights fireworks! It says that the family who has the most beautiful and loudest fireworks will have the best year.   On chinese new year’s day people go to their friends’ house one by one, to greet them. And they are invited to have fancy candies! They also get other good treats. Young children sometimes get money in red envelop by saying ‘’Happy new year’’ to people older than them. Nearly EVERYBODY wears new clothes and new shoes, for good luck, in the coming year.

I wish next time I get to go to China for chinese new year.

Game Day

We filled our word jar for the second time, our reward was a game day pajama day. Kids who wanted  to brought one or two games in and many of the kids in the class wore their pajamas to school. We took part of the day playing games our classmates brought in. For our morning greeting we went around and introduced our stuffed animals! It was a very fun day!

Poems

A blog by Max

Dear reader,

We learned about...poems! We learned about acrostic ones and we learned that they are poems that are like this:

So cool
Perfect
Really pretty
Innocent
No snow
Great!

Down it says SPRING because the words on each line start with the letters s-p-r-i-n-g. We also learned about break lines. They are a very important part of the poems. Break lines are used to emphasize pauses and silences. When you put one single word on a line alone, it means that this word is very important. When you want to write poems in paragraphs, you can use // to show break lines.

Let me show you again.

Great
fish
love
to swim.

I like reading poems. It is like reading music.

Thanks for reading!

Another Funny Family Story

When My Fishing boat flooded

By: Nate

One day last summer I was on my boat, my sister was on Mable, my dad was driving the boat and my mom in the passenger seat. My dad took a sharp turn and he flipped out of the boat then water started pouring in. My dad didn’t have a life jacket on. My dad climbed back in the boat. Once he got back in the boat, he drove the boat to shore. We all started pumping out the water from the boat.
